Google Chrome

Official Google Blog: A fresh take on the browser:
“A fresh take on the browser

At Google, we have a saying: “launch early and iterate.” While this approach is usually limited to our engineers, it apparently
applies to our mailroom as well! As you may have read in the blogosphere, we hit ’send’ a bit early on a comic book introducing our new open source browser, Google Chrome. We will be launching the beta version of Google Chrome tomorrow in more than 100 countries”

Well, looks like Google have finally released a browser – or will tomorrow. Called Google Chrome it will be “the browser re-defined” and is sure to mean that the war between Google and Microsoft will heat up. I suspect that IE8 will now go to beta 3 before it is released so that new features can be implemented to catch up. Me? I use Blogger and Google Mail so I am pleased as punch!

i’ve been using Chrome for about a day now and it seems to be a lot faster than FireFox or IE… though i do miss the “recently closed tabs” feature in Firefox

As you say it has some features missing that would be nice to have. Hopefully they will add these in future builds. I still consider my main browser to be Firefox, with IE8 Beta2 being used as my main “work” browser.
